Job Purpose: The primary goal of this position is to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the Dryer department. The Maintenance Technician will assist the Dryer Supervisor by taking on leadership roles, performing preventative maintenance, and managing inventories.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Technician Duties:
- Perform maintenance tasks such as replacing conveyor belts, motors, butterfly valves, filter socks, greasing machinery, replacing mesh screens, augers, paddles, clutch pads, and propane cylinders.
- Ensure adequate stocking of spare parts, generate work notifications/orders, and issue parts using SAP.
- Utilize tools including drills, airlines, air hammers, hoists, impact tools, etc.
- Exhibit strong troubleshooting skills and make timely, informed decisions.
Lead Duties:
- Operate the Dryer process and perform backup duties for the Dryer Supervisor, including shift coverage as needed.
- Execute basic SAP transactions for process orders and spare parts.
- Operate Front Loader and Stand Up/Sit Down Forklifts (certification provided by Clariant).
- Train and mentor new employees.
- Develop and update work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain quality control documentation, digital logs (spreadsheets), and manage email communications and shift pass-downs.
- Complete Safety Deviations and generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as necessary.
- Assist in loading live loads (forklift trailers).
- Lead and coordinate Kaizen improvement projects.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of leadership experience.
- 1+ years of experience in industrial maintenance.
- Ability to pass and maintain forklift certification.
- Adherence to all Clariant safety regulations.
- Compliance with Clariant's attendance policy.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in both hot and cold environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive approach with a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Shift:
- Monday – Friday some OT on Saturdays
- 6am – 4:30 pm
Pay:
- $26 – $29
